... but many (okay, almost every single one) is "clipped"; its innate volume causes my speakers to distort the sound at any volume.
A shame, too.

Agreed. When you look at a song's waveform, it should not be a solid block! I checked two songs, one had about 100,000 clipped samples and the other had 220,000!
